About Morgan GUERY

Who Am I?
I am a French author, researcher and cultural experience creator working across literature, popular culture and the history of the imagination.
For more than fifteen years, I have explored the cultural legacy of Steampunk and nineteenth-century speculative fiction through books, articles, conferences, exhibitions and cultural events.
This experience has gradually led me towards a broader interest in the literature and ideas that shaped our modern fascination with exploration, technology, other worlds and the unknown.
I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in English and Anglophone Literature, developing research at the intersection of nineteenth-century literature, travel writing, exploration and speculative fiction.
My current academic interests include Victorian literature, British travel and exploration writing, representations of alterity, and the literary transformation of exploration — from encounters with distant cultures to journeys into imagined and extraterrestrial worlds.
Alongside research and writing, I continue to develop cultural projects designed to make literature, history and popular culture accessible to wider audiences.
Background
My professional background combines writing, cultural project management, communication and digital media.
Since 2009, I have been involved in the development of French-language Steampunk culture through media, publishing, events and community projects.
I have written and contributed to several books on Steampunk and retrofuturism, founded and developed cultural media projects, organised conventions and exhibitions, and spoken at conferences and public events.
My work has always moved between research and practice: understanding a cultural subject, exploring its history and references, and finding new ways to share it with an audience.
Today, I am gradually broadening this work beyond Steampunk towards a wider exploration of nineteenth-century culture, speculative fiction and the literary imagination.
